cutless bearings?

Hi all,

Need to replace our countless bearing and have read on the forum that they are 1"1/4, but I measure ours at 1"1/8 ????????
Can anyone throw any light on this for me?
We also want to fit a rope cutter and need the size for that.

Any help regarding the bearing issue would be most appreciated.

Regards

Mike and Jan (Salia)

Re: cutless bearings?

Hi.  Saiia  is No 55, and Twotails is No 21, but I doubt very much if the shaft diameter was changed.  I happen to have a short section of the cutless bearing I installed, have measured it this morning, and it's dimensions are - I.D. 1.25",  O.D. 1.75".

Re: cutless bearings?

Hi. A general comment. (Teaching my grandmother........etc!)   Anyone replacing a cutless bearing should remember to drill 2 holes in the new item so to align with the water intakes on each side of the casting holding it, thus providing the lubrication.

Re: cutless bearings?

We fitted a two part disc type cutter to Gina last winter. Here's a here's a link to a review:

https://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&rct=j … 3015,d.ZGU.

When we bought Gina, she had a set of diving weights aboard, so I've been meaning to fit a rope cutter for a while.
