Warning Buzzer

Anyone know how to wire a warning buzzer into the starter circuit. We have the Perkins 4107 with the three way "ignition" keyswitch. We are trying to create an audible warning to A, remind us to switch to the right on starting and B to switch off when stopping the engine. We tried wiring the buzzer into the charging light circuit which was OK for B but gave an unwanted feeble buzz on tick over, I guess because the alternator is not quite charging and causes the light to flicker. We are on board for a whole week at the moment and the weather is great (but don't tell everyone!!)

Re: Warning Buzzer

Hi Allan & Debbie,
Usual trick is to wire the buzzer to the oil pressure switch. When the engine stops then the buzzer sounds until the key is turned off. It also gives a buzz should oil pressure fail while engine is running.

Thanks Graham I'll try that one, just means transferring the wires too. Sails on today so hope the weather holds and wind stays light.
