We need a new stem-head fitting - some heavy rusting! Is anyone able to recommend a welder who could make this fitting working with the original as the model? Tiwana is in Poole and we are about halfway to Southampton, so it would be good to find someone in this area. Hoping someone has had a good experience of such work. Many thanks.

Re: Recommend a stainless steel welder?
Highly recommend SWAP, Southern Welding and Polishing in Fareham, we have used him a number of times, not cheap but great quality.
You may want to consider modifying the original design, an extra roller has been on our list for years for use with a second anchor or allowing the use on a swinging mooring. We would also like to arrange for the primary anchor to 'self stow'.

Re: Recommend a stainless steel welder?
I agree with Graham. SWAP (Pete) is excellent and helpful. He also mentions the stemhead fitting. We have one which I had made, which can stow a 35lb CQCR, and alongside it there is a roller for a warp, so that in extremis you can lay two anchors. I will send you pictures of it by email, and later put them onto the Gallery Page. Let me know if you have any queries. John Lansdell.

Re: Recommend a stainless steel welder?
Hi All.
New owner and first post.
Depending on price I could be tempted in making an order as well and perhaps getting a discount for both of us for quantity. Would be interested to know what you are quoted, if you do ask. Would also like to know if the original is needed as a template for the fixings or whether they are all pretty standard and the boat can be left operational until it comes to fitting.
Regards to all.
