Secondary Fuel Filter

Does anyone know where I can get the internal rubber seals for the secondary fuel filter? The replacement filter cartridge (FRAM C11846PL)comes with the main large rubber 'O' ring that seals the filter bowl to the filter headcasting. However, I am looking for the two internal seals. In particular, I need the bottom internal rubber seal that fits between the base of the filter cartridge and the penny washer/spring assembly. This is the original standard fuel filter unit mounted on the starboard side of the 4.107 I have tried Lancing Marine and French Marine without any success. If I can't find a replacement then I will have to change out the entire filter assembly!

Any help would be much appreciated.

Re: Secondary Fuel Filter

Hi Jan

Sorry, not much help as its been a while since I looked at the filter in detail. I can not recall a seperate rubber seal in the original perkins unit. The filter itself had a seal on its bottom face that matched up to the washer above the spring in the bottom of the housing. A later type of filter was secure by a stud coming up from the bottom, that had an "O" ring under the head of the stud.
Have a look at your filter and check how it fits to the washer at the bottom.
Come back to me if you cannot sort it and I will do a bit of looking back at the arrangement.

Re: Secondary Fuel Filter

Jan,

I only looked at the Forum again today and noticed your query so sorry for the delay since your original posting. I've recently sold my Seadog but when I did have her I found that Golden Arrow Marine in Southampton were a good source of Perkins spares so perhaps they're worth a go. They have a web site but their phone number is 02380 710371. Hope it helps.
Regards
Peter
