New Altenator

Has anyone fitted a replacement Altenator on the Perkins 4107 ?

We have given up trying to nurse to old Lucas 11AC and the external regulator also the boat wiring is shot with more dodgy joints than a Cheap butcher so it is time to upgrade. It seems that the A127 is recomended ?

Regards

Re: New Altenator

We identified our alternator (also on a Perkins 4107) as a 70A unit typically fitted to Ford escort diesel vans. I got a replacement from a company local to us for £40, I think they charge £10 mail order. Don't know if yours is the same but they are worth a call with reference numbers if you can't source one locally. They also rebuilt my starter motor, not cheap at £388 exchange but they made a fantasic job of it. Details below.

Electrostart - electrostart2006@googlemail.com - Carl Wise 07702 6632373 or Ray Wild 07724 136610. They normally trade on EBay but will deal direct for any starter or alternator.

There is a photo on the gallery of our alternator
