Does anyone have instructions/drawings for dismantling and servicing the original bronze Lewmar winch that is fitted in the cockpit?

The winch has a short straight handle which is moved back and forth (not the modern revolving type handle). There are 4 screws in the top of the winch cylinder. I am wary of taking this apart in case all the bit fall out and I can't reassemble it again!

I suggest you have a look at www.sailnet.com, they have a section on the maintenance of old Lewmars, which may give you some information.
