Antifouling

Antifoul

I want to antifoul Belhound using Copper Coat shortly but am unsure of the surface area of her bottom.

Does anyone have a fairly accurate estimate of her wetted surface please to quantify the Copper Coat or better still, if anyone has already done this job, how much material did you use?

Many thanks in anticipation.

Re: Antifoul

Hi Andrew
Sorry I am unable to give you the answer, but I did Easy Go with Copper Coat in 2006 and am pleased with the results. Easy Go is a Nab 35 drawing about 4ft 9in, I would guess that the Seagog would be of similar area because of the bilge keels. I used 6 tins, I think they were 1 Litre?

Re: Antifoul

Hello Eric

Many thanks for your reply.

We have calculated her bottom at around 27.5M Sq. In the end we have decided to go for 'Liquid Copper' antifouling as the temperature and other application constraints are not as demanding.

I shall try to remember to post a note of how it went.
