please excuse this intrusion
we are contemplating buying a seadog boat and would welcome any advice on what to look out for we do not have one in mind at the moment & are not in a hurry as yet

Hi Antoni
They are a very well built boat and free from most of the problems usually associated with their age.
Main points to look at. Condition of bilge keel nuts, often the nuts are corroded but the bolts still ok. The forward bulk head in the aft cabin and the mizzen mast tabernacle bolts. These two problems often come together if the bulkhead rots it causes these bolts to corrode. All the other points are as you would expect. A few boats have had problems with corrosion of the rubbing strake fastenings.
