Dear All.
The next SOA journal includes an article on the US Cruising Club Award presented Susanne Huber (ex GLORY) for exceptional seamanship when she towed her husband Tony into port after his boat sprung a leak off New Zealand. This is dated Jan 2009.
They appear to have set off again quite quickly and sailed Feb - June 2009 ending up in Alaska, but this journey only seems to be available in German on the site:

Can anyone extract the interesting bits (it is quite long) and forward it to me so that this can be included in the Journal.
I also have an account of their impressions of Alaska and laying up for the winter (in english this time) so the middle part would complete the story.

On that particular website there is a button marked "Translate". If you highlight the passage/s you want translating then right click your mouse and click on "copy" then click on the "translate" button it will take you to a new page. Right click on the text box and paste the german text into it. Then click on "translate" button and Voila the text is in English

With the help of a translation programme, I have translated the article "From New Zealand to Alaska" to English. It may not be absolutely correct in places, but I hope that it is reasonably so.
