Seasickness (and M I 5!)

Hi To all

Re my comments on Seasickness at the Elstead last weekend, the system I use and described is set out below.
These patches are prescription only and should obviously be used as prescribed by your doctor.
I always put the patches on a few hours before needing them, usually before bed if sailing next morning. The only problem I find is a very dry mouth when waking. This soon goes away, I do not get this as bad if I have taken them during the day. They last for about 72 hours use, but I always remove them if I have completed a passage and am not sailing far in the next few days.
Details.
SCOPODERM TTS PATCHES
Scopolamine (hyoscine) Average absorption 1mg hyoscine in 72 hours. Each patch contains 1.5mg scopolamine (hyoscine).

I would suggest that if you obtain these you give them a try over a weekend at home before you use them at sea just in case you have any reaction. To me they are a life saver, I could not do long passages without them as stugeron allows me to sail but only if I stay on deck.

Hope this is of some help.

Re: Seasickness

A word of warning! Scopolamin is a truth drug used by interogators to access secrets. If you are wearing one of these patches for seasickness and your spouse starts asking searching questions be VERY VERY careful what you say. Seasickness could be the very least of your worries !!
