New Owner needs help - Pinta Auto Pilot

Hi

We have just purchased Soyakaze and are servicing all moving parts !

I am trying to remove the GRP steering housing, after a struggle we managed to get the steering wheel off however I can not see how the Pinta Autohelm clutch wheel is fitted.

Can anyone please advise on the correct way to remove the wheel and the centre bolt as I would prefer not to break anything.

We look forward to meeting the fleet soon

Regards - Chris and Phil

Hi Philip,
Congratualtions on becoming an owner, or should I say custodian of a Seadog.
To answer your question; To engage the clutch the handwheel is rotated Clockwise and TO UNDO the retaining nut in the centre rotate Clockwise You may have to give the spanner a light tap to start after that it should spin quite easily, this are chromed brass nut.
From my recolection of Soyakase the mechanics were fairly well maintained and I would have thought that the all important Pinta manual was onboard.
Trust this helps

Thanks, I have been trying to undo the centre nut anticlockwise.

Unfortunately Soyakaze has been untouched for more than 2 years, as the previous owner has been unwell, so there is a lot of checking to do.
